Jenny Byrne, the creator of Zealandia has woven her love of natural products with her fascination with spiritual and mythological art to produce this unusually designed jewelry. Zealandia Designs use all natural materials, combining elements such as silver, gold, fossilized ivory, semi-precious stones, ammonites, orthoceras, and an asortment of vibrantly colored mother of pearl. Because of the natural materials and fossilzied ammonite each piece is unique. Because of the Fossilized walrus tusk no two colors are exactly alike and can span from creamy white to honey, reddish brown to black, depending on the age of each and the minerals it came in contact with.
Though collection of ivory is prohibited by law, these peices have been legally obtained from native owned land by Eskimo families from old village sites on St. Lawrence Island, Alaska.
Each peice is individually hand crafted in Bali, Indonesia. Depending on the artisan who created the piece, and the materials used, each piece is slightly different and remarkably distinct, therefore you may receive a piece slightly different than the illustated one. |
